The mind functions according to the direction of the eyes. A selfish eye is the one that looks at the world with the intention to take. A gracious eye sees what can be given. The thoughts I have in my mind when I sit to be silent will reveal to me where my eyes have been today. Today let me look at the world through contributing, giving eyes.
