Every time I use the word ‘Have to’ I am saying I would rather not be where I am right now and doing what I am doing at this moment. If I keep thinking in this way in one area of my life, it becomes a habitual thought pattern, which soon turns up in my attitude everywhere in my life. Let me transform any reluctance in my life today by re-affirming my choices. I, the soul, make choices about where I am and what I do.
Unhealthy lifestyles are rooted in the mind. The spiritual exercise of the mind involves using the imagination to take the mind out of physical body to the subtle, angelic body of light and then to the state of being a soul – a sentient point of light and power. This exercise creates a healing space between the mind and the body allowing the spiritual energy of the soul to heal the body. Today let me heal the body by creating a healing space between mind and body.
Temper gets you into trouble; pride keeps you there. Quick reactions come from inner sensitivities that have been protected but not healed. Defending my reaction only deepens the habit of hiding rather than facing. When I consider my reactions as signals of the need for healing I can look into the mirror of my own heart and see the work to be done. Today let me consider reactions as an invitation to heal.
Pure vibrations invite in a way that logic cannot. When things are difficult, words and logic do not dispel but further complicate. To dissolve tension, to put things right and to establish mutual understanding I need to make my vibrations light and offer cooperation through my mind. When the other person feels respected it invites them to join me rather than oppose me. Today let me create harmony through pure vibrations.
Time has come to be peaceful, taking the time to do this is critical. The world is calling for peace. Individuals around the world are crying for peace. In my own heart I may have moments of peace surrounded by anxiety and worry. I may even worry about losing the peace I have. It is time to make inner peace a priority, in this way bringing the energy of peace to others and to my world. Today let me make peace my priority.
Part of spiritual journey is to become fully comfortable alone, to understand and enjoy the self with no need for distraction. However, to become isolated is to move away from challenges and delights of interactions with other human beings. Spiritual transformation will bring world transformation only when we can remain spiritually content and peaceful with others, not only when in isolation. Today let me find the perfect balance of being by myself and with others.
Teach by being. Instead of teaching others by telling them, I can teach them best by doing it myself. In today’s world people are inundated with words, information, advice and teachings but what is lacking is the visible proof of virtue in action. To be a model of virtue in action is to leave an indelible impression in someone’s mind and heart. Today let me be a living example of virtue.
What will I find if I sit quietly alone with myself? Some of us are afraid to find out so we keep ourselves very busy. All this activity is justified and usually beneficial, but it is an excuse not to sit in silence. When I become a human DOING, I begin to think that my value lies in the activities I perform and the accomplishments I achieve. To think this way is to lose myself-the human being. Today let me sit quietly and find out who I really am inside.
Increase your limits. When I think I have done enough and I can do NO more, it is at that time that I have opportunity to stretch my limits. Many people feel they have reached their limit and are unable to tolerate anything else in this world and in their lives. I am able to change my world when I stretch beyond my limited thoughts about what is possible. Today let me stretch my limits.
Increase your power of concentration and finish all types of upheaval. Where there is the power of concentration I become automatically stable inside. With the power of concentration, any waste thoughts, words or actions finishes and there is a feeling of power. To concentrate my mind I must stabilize it in one elevated thought. By becoming absorbed in a powerful, positive thought I generate more power of concentration. Today let me increase my power of concentration and enjoy a stable internal state of mind.
